We all wear masks. Who doesn't? We don't want people to see who we really are. So we hide behind this mask of "happiness" to give the impression that everything is fine even if things are screwy. But remember this...there is one who can see through the mask even if our human eyes can't. God can see straight through your mask and he knows what you are hiding. How comforting to know that He understands. We don't have to hide.

Body Worlds

Well, dad and I just got home from Discovery Place...we went to see Gunter von Hagen's Body Worlds. It was so spectacular. Walking through and seeing how intricate our bodies are and knowing that God designed all this in one day. How awesome is that???? Here are some awesome pictures.

Lift your eyes to our Rock and Salvation

When all around seems to crumble before us,
When the darkness seems to drown the light,
We will lift our eyes. We will lift our eyes to
The One who gives all things their existence,
The One who works all to His sov'reign plan.
We will lift our eyes. We will lift our eyes to

Our Rock and our Salvation,
Jesus Christ the living hope
Should the waves of destruction come,
Your hand won't let us go.
You're our strength and our comfort,
Our great shield from Satan's blows.
You're our Rock,
You're our Rock and Salvation.

When the pain seems to tower before us,
And the tears seem to flow without end,
We will lift our eyes. We will lift our eyes to
The One who loves to heal the broken hearted,
The One who works all things for our good.
We will lift our eyes. We will lift our eyes to

Our Rock and our Salvation,
Jesus Christ the living hope
Should the waves of destruction come,
Your hand won't let us go.
You're our strength and our comfort,
Our great shield from Satan's blows.
You're our Rock,
You're our Rock and Salvation.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places.

No matter what our matter how hard our struggle is...we should rejoice in the Lord always because he is our strength and our salvation.

Ever feel like this?

Matthew 11:28,30
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

God will cradle us in his arms and help us to find rest in Him. Nothing else can do this. When we are weary of this world and weary of all life throws at us, just remember to give your burdens to the one who's burden is light and take rest in Him.

Taking the time to Honor them

I just want to take some time to honor my parents today. Not because of mothers day or fathers day but just because they are my parents and I love them.

This is my dad. I admire him so could even say he's my hero. As long as I can remember, I've been a daddy's girl. He still puts me to bed everynight, prays with me and gives me a kiss...even if I'm 16. I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is so wise and yet he is as humble as one who knows nothing. Every morning, he is faithful to spend time with God and often studies all day on Saturday. He leads our home with God's standards and brings gentle correction when I sin. And...he always knows how to make me laugh...even if it is corny. I love him so much!

This is my mom...the woman with more grace than a ballerina. (not talking moves here)She works tirelessly and her day does not end until she goes to bed (at midnight!!) Honestly...I want to be just like her...a loving wife and a caring mother who knows just what to do and say. We may disagree on a lot of things but I wouldn't trade her for a million bucks! She cooks and cleans and plans school and even plays chauffeur to me, and my grandparents. She does things for caregroup and regularly meets with different ladies. She is always involved in church events and still makes time to spend with dad and I. I can always go to her and tell her everything even though sometimes I don't want to. This lady is amazing and I love her to death.

My parents are amazing...I love them so much and appreciate them taking the time to teach me everything I need to know. They are such wonderful examples of a Godly man and woman.

Living up to the name

But what is a miracle really? a miracle defined is:
1. an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause.
2. such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God.
3. a wonder; marvel.

how cool is that?

Thoughts while Babysitting

The kids are in bed and the house is finally quiet. I love babysitting. Last night was the senior banquet. It was so cool to see everyone dressed up and looking nice. It was a bittersweet moment because we are celebrating these seniors and saying goodbye at the same time. It made me realize how precious this time is. Next year I will be a senior and leaving the youth group I love so much. There is nothing MORE important right now than to be taught by our parents and our pastors who have so willingly taken time to teach us. I can't wait for this year to begin. I am so blessed and so amazed.

For I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Psalm 139:13-20 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

No matter what the idea of a beautiful person is in the eyes of this matter how funny lookin' I can be...I know that I will always be beautiful in the eyes of my Savior and that I will always be fearfully and wonderfully made.

I'm NOT only a youth

The word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." "Ah, Sovereign Lord," I said, "I do not know how to speak for I am only a youth." But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a youth.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD. Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth.
~ Jeremiah 1:4-9

This is SO cool! God has put his words in MY mouth!!!!! I cool is that? An awesome God puts his words into a lowly human like me so that I can spread his essence throughout the world without being afraid or timid! This is too amazing for words.
