Creation Story

Genesis 1:1-3 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light."
The story of creation parallels with our own lives. We are created in His image but with sin/without God...we are "formless and empty" - without a purpose. The only thing that can fill the void is the newness of life that comes in Jesus. He didn't create the earth to leave it that way - void, hollow and without form - and he didn't create us to leave us void, hollow and without form. He created us with a purpose - a destiny and a plan. His purpose for you is eternal...and it's greater than anything you could accomplish on your own.

We are empty inside...always searching for a purpose...searching for something to fill the void in our lives. But it's a void that cannot be filled with worldly things. The void can only be filled with the spirit of God. He wants to fill your life with an eternal purpose. If you live your life for God...your life has eternal value. What is your life if lived for yourself? What will you have to show? - nothing. Our purpose is to know him...anything less than knowing him and we've missed it all...he wants to speak light and life into your life just as he spoke light into the earth.

Maybe you're thinking..."So I'm supposed to give up my whole life to knowing God...and that's gonna do wonders for me right...but why should I trust him?" - it's simple...He's the only God who died...and took back his life again...Allah, Buddha, Muhammad - where are they? Don't trust a God who didn't come back for you. That is the reason you should trust him...he came back for you...he loved you so much...he wants to know you and he wants you to know him.

These verses came to mind... (not completely sure why :-))
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul?

Whoever saves his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it
